If your student has a list of schools longer than your family’s grocery list, do not fear. You may be able to apply to all of them using only a few applications. For families in Texas, ApplyTexas and The Common App should get the job done for most students.

When do I start?

The Common App is available on August 1st for students attending college in the fall of 2022.

What do you need?

For ApplyTexas and The Common App, you will need to create an account. To start, gather your personal information like name, date of birth, citizenship, start date, course of study, etc. Once you have completed your profile, then application process begins.

Which app should I use for which school?

For students in Texas who wish to stay in the state, ApplyTexas will be your primary application. Students looking outside of Texas will primarily use The Common App. Some schools like Baylor & Texas Tech allow you to choose either.
